New Features and Enhancements
ProcessMaker's Spring 2025 Release introduces several new features and enhancements aimed at empowering organizations for an AI-driven future and accelerating business process automation.
RAG Collections
Enhance knowledge retrieval with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Collections, enabling designers to create and configure collections from external data sources. RAG collections help designers efficiently manage and organize data from files and URLs using AI-powered semantic analysis for more relevant retrieval. They serve as a structured data source in FlowGenie Studio, enhancing Genies' ability to access and use information.
External Data Sources: Upload files or URLs, with automatic data extraction and storage.
FlowGenie Integration: Genies use RAG collections for better data retrieval, with configurable match thresholds and limits.
Enhanced Insights: AI-driven analysis improves question-answering capabilities with precise, context-aware responses.
External System Support: API and data connectors enable seamless data exchange.
VarFinder
Design faster and easier, with your most recent variables conveniently accessible in the VarFinder. VarFinder simplifies variable management in ProcessMaker, ensuring seamless access to process variables across the platform. With task context, cross-process search, and an intuitive UI, it helps designers quickly locate assets and their variables.
Quick Access Panel: Open VarFinder using shift + space as a draggable popover window for convenience.
Efficient Filtering: Search for variables within assets or filter results by asset type.
Expandable Variable Lists: Expand/collapse variable lists for easy navigation.
One-Click Copy: Select a variable to automatically copy it and paste where needed.
Decision Tables Hit Policies (Single and Multiple)
Configure policies to allow multiple simultaneous outcomes based on business needs, without hardcoding logic in scripts. Use Single-Hit and Multi-Hit Policies to control how matching rules are handled.
Single-Hit Policy: Returns a single result based on predefined rule-matching criteria.
Multi-Hit Policy: Returns multiple results by aggregating or listing all matching rule outputs.
Preview Mode: Test rules before using them in processes.
Configurable Hit Policies: Select the best-suited policy when building processes in the Modeler.
Enhance business process decisions with flexible policies, giving designers full control over how multiple matching rules are processed.
Process Intelligence Chrome Extension
Simplify task mining for web applications with the ProcessMaker Process Intelligence (PI) Chrome Extension. This lightweight, browser-based tool allows for seamless data collection and analysis without the need for complex installations. It offers a quick setup process and ensures cross-platform compatibility, supporting both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Quick and Easy Setup: Available in the Chrome Web Store, allowing rapid installation and configuration.
Cross-Platform Compatibility: Extends functionality beyond Windows, enabling Mac users to participate in task mining activities.
Browser-Based Features: Lays the groundwork for new features that integrate directly within your web browser environment.
With the PI Chrome Extension, users can efficiently capture and analyze processes directly from their browser, enhancing process insights and optimization.
Home Page
Improved task management and navigation with the new Participant Home Screen, offering a centralized, personalized workspace for participants. This streamlined interface, combined with a dynamic Task Table and Launchpad, reduces navigation time and boosts productivity, leading to a smoother, more satisfying participant journey.
Unified Home Screen: Displays inbox, processes, and dashboards upon login.
Smart Inbox & Filters: Retains existing task functionalities, including Next Best Action and Smart Filtering.
Process Launchpad Integration: Provides quick access to process details and task lists.
Dashboard Access: Dedicated section for viewing assigned dashboards directly from the Inbox.
AI Screen Creation with Templates
Accelerate process creation with pre-designed layouts for AI-generated screens, ensuring consistency and reducing manual adjustments.
Structured Layouts: Screens created through AI will automatically apply one of five pre-designed templates for a polished and functional design.
Instant Usability: Header, content (multi-column), and footer sections provide a ready-to-use structure, eliminating the need for layout modifications.
Smart Template Selection: AI selects the most relevant template based on asset type, ensuring optimal usability.
DevLink
Enhance collaboration and efficiency with improved DevLink functionality, enabling seamless asset and configuration synchronization across ProcessMaker instances.
Expanded Bundle Support: Add PM Blocks, Scripts, Screens, Signals, Data Connectors, Decision Tables, and Genies to DevLink bundles.
Settings Management: Share Users, Groups, Email Servers, Authentication Settings, UI Configurations, and Translations within DevLink.
In-App Notifications: Receive alerts when linked bundles are updated, ensuring you stay informed of changes.
Bundle Updates & Reinstallation: Easily apply updates or reinstall bundles for greater flexibility.
Modeler to Launchpad
One-click access to the LaunchPad from the Modeler enabling seamless navigation between process design and monitoring.
Direct Launchpad Access: A new option in the Modeler allows users to open the process in Launchpad instantly.
Real-Time Process Management: Users can validate, monitor, and track live processes without redundant navigation steps.
Pre-Publish Alert: If a process is unpublished, an alert prompts users to publish it before accessing Launchpad.
Task Notifications
Keep process participants informed with default email and in-app notifications, ensuring better task visibility and workflow efficiency.
Default Task Notifications: Assigned and Due notifications are automatically enabled for assignees for all new tasks.
Email Notifications: Users receive an email when assigned a task, keeping them informed even when not logged in.
User Control: Email notifications can be disabled in User Profile Settings for flexibility based on preference.
Task Destination
Simplify task routing with changes to Task Destination property of a Form Task, enhancing process flow management and reducing configuration complexities.
Unified Task Destination Settings: Integrates the Next Assigned Task option within the task destination configuration, streamlining task routing setups.
Screen Interstitial Integration: Offers an option to display a screen between tasks, providing seamless transitions and improved user guidance.
Automatic Migration: Existing processes using the previous "Display Next Assigned Task to Task Assignee" setting are automatically updated to the new configuration, ensuring continuity without manual adjustments.
UI Improvements
Enhance usability and visibility with UI updates to Cases list, providing a cleaner, more intuitive interface for managing tasks.
Saved Filters & Column Configurations: Cases list now retains applied filters and column settings for a personalized experience.
Adaptive Table Rendering: Tables dynamically adjust based on screen size, optimizing row display and pagination.
Improved Task Column UI: The Current Task column now clearly differentiates tasks, displaying associated Process Names for better visibility.
Font & Row Height Updates: Standardized font sizes, colors, and row heights for better readability.
Reset Column Settings: A reset option restores default column configurations.
