Create a Process Using a Guided Template

Create your own Process based on the use case the Guided Template addresses. Take a step-by-step walk-through through a wizard to configure your implementation of that Guided Template.

Create a Process Using a Guided Template

A Guided Template steps you through a wizard to create your own Process based on the use case that Guided Template addresses.

Follow these steps to create a Process using a Guided Template:

  1. View the Guided Templates. The Guided Templates display.

  2. Locate the Guided Template from which to create a Process.

  3. Click on that Guided Template's card. A screen displays the name, description and image carousel for that Guided Template.

  4. Click the Use Now button.

  5. Review the Guided Template's description to ensure you have available any optional or required information the Guided Template needs to successfully complete it. Having information prepared to complete the Guided Template configures the Process how you want to use it. If you do not have the required information while going through the Guided Template's wizard, you can step through the wizard, and then re-run that Guided Template again later after you have that information ready.

  6. The Guided Template wizard walks you through to configure your Process's implementation of that Guided Template. Enter information as requested by the Guided Template, and click the Next button to proceed to the next step in the wizard.

  7. Click the Save and Finish button at the last step of the Guided Template to complete the wizard.

After stepping through the wizard to quickly configure your Process, the Guided Template publishes your Process in Process Launchpad. You may immediately use your Process: start a Request and its corresponding Case. Other participants, such as those assigned Tasks, receive notifications when to participate in your Process.

Re-Run a Guided Template to Reconfigure a Process

Re-run a Guided Template to reconfigure a Process you created from that Guided Template. Upon re-running a Guided Template, your Process is reconfigured based on the revised information you provide in its wizard. Re-running a Guided Template does not create a duplicate Process. Instead, it replaces the existing Process.

Follow these steps to re-run a Guided Template:

  1. View the Guided Templates. The Guided Templates display.

  2. Locate the Guided Template you used to create your Process.

  3. Click on that Guided Template's card.

  4. Click the Re-run Wizard link.

  5. Step through the Guided Template wizard again, and provided revised information for your Process.

  6. Click the Save and Finish button at the last step of the Guided Template to complete wizard.

After stepping through the wizard again, the Guided Template republishes your Process in Process Launchpad.
