Pin an Element or Connector

Pin a Process model object to the Explorer panel and the Objects bar.

Overview

Process model objects are collectively BPMN elements and connectors.

Pinned Process model objects are quickly accessible to place them into a Process model. Pin an object when you place it often into your Process models.

A pinned object does the following to that object:

  • That object displays from the Pinned Objects section of the Add Object tab within the Explorer panel.

  • That object displays from the Objects bar at the bottom of the Process Modeler canvas to quickly access it.

Permissions Required

Your user account or group membership must have the following permissions to pin or unpin a Process model object unless your user account has the Make this user a Super Admin setting selected:

  • Processes: Edit Processes

  • Processes: View Processes

Pin a Process Model Object

Follow these steps to pin a Process model object:

  1. Locate the object category in which to pin from one of the following locations in the Explorer panel:

  2. Click the Unpinned icon for the Process model object. The following occurs:

    • That object now displays in the Pinned Objects section with the Pinned icon.

    • That object displays from the Objects bar at the bottom of the Process Modeler canvas to quickly access it.

Unpin a Process Model Object

Follow these steps to unpin a Process model object:

  1. Locate the object category in which to unpin from the Pinned Objects section.

  2. Click the Pinned icon for the Process model object. The following occurs:

    • That object now displays in the Object Category section with the Unpinned icon.

    • That object does not display from the Objects bar at the bottom of the Process Modeler canvas.
