Copy Elements and Connectors into the Clipboard

Copy one or more selected elements and connectors into your Clipboard.

Overview

Copying one or more Process model BPMN elements and/or connectors, collectively referred to as Process model objects, places those objects and their respective settings into the Clipboard. The copied Process model object(s) may be copied and then pasted using keyboard shortcuts.

Copied Process model objects cannot be pasted into another Process model.

When pasted, the copied Process model element(s) display below the original. Any Sequence Flow and/or Message Flow elements incoming to or outgoing from the original are not copied.

Copy Elements or Connectors into the Clipboard

Your user account or group membership must have the following permissions to copy Process model objects unless your user account has the Make this user a Super Admin setting selected:

  • Processes: Edit Processes

  • Processes: View Processes

See the Process permissions or ask your Administrator for assistance.

Follow these steps to copy Process model element(s) and/or connector(s), collectively referred to as Process model object(s):

  1. View your Processes. The Processes page displays.

  2. Select the Process model object(s) to copy.

  3. Use Control+C (Command+C) to copy.

  4. Use Control+V (Command+V) to paste into the same Process model. The Process model object(s) display below the original(s).

When a Pool element or Lane element is copied, all Process model objects are also copied to the Clipboard with their respective settings.
