# Configure a Process Template

Edit the Configuration of a Process Template.

## Configure a Process Template

**Permissions**

Your user account or group membership must have the following permissions to configure a Process Template unless your user account has the **Make this user a Super Admin** setting selected:

- Process Templates: Edit Process Templates
- Process Templates: View Process Templates

See the [Process Templates](/v1/docs/permission-descriptions-for-users-and-groups#process-templates) permissions or ask your Administrator for assistance.

Follow these steps to configure a Process Template:

1. [View all Process Templates](/v1/docs/process-templates#view-process-templates). The **Templates** tab displays.
2. Click the![](https://cdn.document360.io/2d311614-fcb7-4424-8b4c-d4d3091eebeb/Images/Documentation/f017d0a9-2904-47d3-bc90-845fd707c145.png) menu, and select the **Configure Template** option. The **Configuration** tab displays.

3. Edit the following Process Template configuration as necessary:
  - In the **Name** setting, edit the unique name of the Process Template. This is a required setting.
  - In the **Description** setting, edit the description of the Process Template. This is a required setting.
  - In the **Version** setting, edit the version of the Process Template. This is required setting and accepts numerical values only.
  - From the **Category** drop-down menu, select to which [Process Category](/v1/docs/process-categories) to assign the Process Template. To remove a Process Category that is currently selected, click the![](https://cdn.document360.io/2d311614-fcb7-4424-8b4c-d4d3091eebeb/Images/Documentation/908e7316-f141-413d-af5a-43ad1cd19feb.png)icon for that Process Category. This is a required setting.
4. Click **Save** to save your changes.
